Clayton County is the latest county, in the Metro area, to participate in “Operation Pill Drop”, which is the DEA’s effort to dispose of potentially harmful drugs. The Clayton County Sheriff's Department, in conjuction with the Clayton County Water Authority, is hosting a prescription drug take-back event on Saturday, September 25th from 10a.m. to 2p.m.

The public will be able to dispose of expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs, or over-the-counter medications to try and prevent prescription drug abuse and overdose.

“Operation Pill Drop” will be held at the Lowes of Stockbridge (3505 Mt. Zion Road, Stockbridge). This program was developed to offer the public a free and convenient option for disposing of their prescriptions and over-the-counter medications to protect their families and the environment.
