Clayton County Tourism Authority Installs New Board Members

Jonesboro, Ga. - The Clayton County Tourism Authority is pleased to announce the installment of three new members to the Board of Directors on Tuesday, August 9.  Hosted at the Clarion Hotel in Jonesboro, present Clayton County Tourism Authority members and Clayton County Convention & Visitors Bureau staff were on site for a reception to welcome new members Cindy Kelley, Sherry Hancock and Dr. Darryal McCullough. 

Linda Summerlin, Chairman of the Clayton County Tourism Authority, commented "We are excited about the wealth of financial, operational and functional expertise our new members will bring to the table and are confident they will be immediate, contributing members of our Board."

The Clayton County Tourism Authority consists of a total of seven members appointed by the Clayton County Board of Commissioners.  Existing Tourism Authority Board members include, Linda Summerlin, Emma Godbee, Tom Maples, and Clint Magby.  Appointed Board members are entrusted with the development and promotion of Clayton County through public projects designed and intended to promote tourism for the county. The Clayton County Tourism Authority owns The Road To Tara Museum and a 14 passenger tour bus, both of which are operated by the Clayton County Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The Clayton County Convention & Visitors Bureau is the official tourism marketing agency for Clayton County. The CVB advertises and promotes the area to bring business to hotels, attractions, historical sites and meeting facilities within Clayton County and its neighboring communities.
