Clayton County Police Academy set to graduate first class

RIVERDALE, Ga. -- (submitted by Officer J.K. Schneller) On Friday, October 21, 2011, the Clayton County Police Department will graduate the first class of the Clayton County Police Academy.

After the disbanding of the Clayton County Regional Police Academy, the Clayton County Police Department received P.O.S.T. approval earlier this year for the creation of the Clayton County Police Academy.

The academy’s first class began with 15 recruits. Friday marks the culmination of a rigorous course of training that only 12 recruits were able to complete. We take this opportunity to congratulate our 12 new officers.

We would like to invite members of the media to join us for this special occasion. The graduation begins promptly at 7:00 p.m. at the Clayton County Police Headquarters located at 7911 North McDonough Street, Jonesboro, GA 30236.
