TOTY Finalists Announced

The district has named the finalists in the selection process for the 2011 Clayton County Public School's Teacher of the Year. The teachers selected as finalists are:

Samuel Wayne West is a teacher of middle grades at Rex Mill Middle School. He has 11 years of teaching experience and holds a bachelor’s degree from Fort Valley State University, a master’s degree from Strayer University, and a specialist’s degree from Liberty University.

Fareedah Wright Lockhart is a fifth grade teacher at McGarrah Elementary School. She has been teaching for nine years and holds a bachelor’s degree from Alabama A&M University, a master’s degree from Central Michigan University, and a specialist’s degree from Mercer University.

Natasha Clarke-Grant is a teacher of first grade at Lake City Elementary School.

Mundy's Mill High Wins Presidential Award

Mundy's Mill High Transition/Career Technical Inservice or CTI students were presented the Presidential Bronze Service Award for their dedication to making a positive difference in their community through volunteerism. They were honored by the Atlanta Community Food Bank at the Carter Center. 

The student program received a congratulatory letter signed by President Barack Obama, a certificate bearing the presidential seal and a presidential pin.
