Police identify Jonesboro rape suspect | Crime
JONESBORO, Ga. -- Clayton County Police have identified a suspect they said was involved in burglary and rape in Jonesboro.
Investigators said the suspect is 25-year-old James Arthur Ramsey III. He was identified in part, due to a police sketch released previously.
Police said Ramsey broke into a house in the 500 block of Sycamore Drive at around 2:40 a.m. Sunday.
Police said he sexually assaulted a woman inside the house and then stole a 42-inch television and a Galaxy Metro PCS phone. The victim said Ramsey told her he had a gun, but never displayed one.
Police said Ramsey left the house in a car with keyless entry, according to the victim.
Arrest warrants have been obtained against Ramsey on charges of rape, burglary, false imprisonment, aggravated assault and robbery.
