 Authorities Raid 12 Illegal Gambling Locations in Clayton, Rockdale

On Monday, December 6th, twelve illegal gambling locations were simultaneously raided by FBI, ICE, ATF, US Marshalls, Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office, Conyers Police Department and Clayton County Fire Department after Clayton County Sheriff’s received numerous complaints about gambling activity in the area.

Assisted by the aforementioned agencies, authorities were able to apprehend their key perpetrator, Larry Lee Simmons who manufacturers gambling machines and acts as the owner of The Cedar Room, which is located in Riverdale. Other perpetrators were apprehended and arrested.

The raids included: the home of Larry Lee Simmons, 3 warehouses in Rockdale County and 8 businesses in Clayton County. 

Those arrested have been charged with 1.  Commercial Gambling  2.  Possession/Manufacture of Gambling Equipment 3.

Sherriff's Office Opens New Law Enforcement Substations

On November 8th, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office will open law enforcement substations, utilizing school system trailers that formerly housed classrooms.  The substations will be manned by administrative civilian staff, uniformed supervisors and deputies.  These substations have been strategically placed on school grounds, in highly visible and travelled community areas.

Johns Creek Police Need Your Help

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- Have you seen this woman? Police in Roswell and Johns Creek say that she is wanted in connection with an entering auto case and credit card fraud.

On Sept. 23, a victim reported that her wallet had been stolen. She did not know where it had been taken from. Shortly after, her credit cards were used at the Target store located at 2625 Peachtree Parkway, Johns Creek.

Police believe this is the same woman who committed a recent burglary in Roswell. In that case, stolen credit cards were used at the Target store at 2650 Holcomb Bridge Road, Alpharetta, and at Wal-Mart stores in Fayetteville and Riverdale.

The suspect is a white female. Police believe that she had a male accomplice in the Roswell incident.

Operation Pill Drop in Clayton County

Clayton County is the latest county, in the Metro area, to participate in “Operation Pill Drop”, which is the DEA’s effort to dispose of potentially harmful drugs. The Clayton County Sheriff's Department, in conjuction with the Clayton County Water Authority, is hosting a prescription drug take-back event on Saturday, September 25th from 10a.m. to 2p.m.

 The public will be able to dispose of expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs, or over-the-counter medications to try and prevent prescription drug abuse and overdose.

“Operation Pill Drop” will be held at the Lowes of Stockbridge (3505 Mt. Zion Road, Stockbridge).
