Road To Tara Museum Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Jonesboro, Ga. - The Road To Tara Museum will celebrate its 10th Anniversary in Jonesboro, Georgia's historic train depot with a special day of 10 cent admission on Thurs., Oct. 20.

Just fifteen miles south of Atlanta, the Road To Tara Museum invites Gone With The Wind fans and visitors to relive Rhett and Scarlett's sweeping romance through enjoying the museum's original movie props and wardrobe items, foreign edition library, original manuscripts, costume reproductions, extensive photo gallery and complete collectible plate and doll collection.

Clayton County CVB Offers Family Reunion Showcase

In partnership with the City of Riverdale's Department of Cultural Affairs and Leisure Services, the Clayton County Convention & Visitors Bureau will host a Family Reunion Showcase on Saturday, November 5, 2011.

Hosted from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Riverdale Centre (7210 Church Street, Riverdale, GA), the Family Reunion Showcase will consist of an array vendors who provide services for family reunions, including event facilities, hotels, entertainers, caterers, t-shirt and promotional items, as well as transportation.  In addition to vendors, the Clayton County CVB will also host an educational seminar on planning and executing a family reunion in Clayton County.

"Located just fifteen miles south of Atlanta, Clayton County is an affordable and family-oriented destination, offering local historical, recreational, outdoor, and cultural attractions for reunions of all sizes," says Rebekah Cline, Marketing & Communications Director.

Clayton County Police Department Linking Together Against Crime 3k Run

On Saturday, October 15, 2011 Clayton County Police Department Chief Gregory Porter will be hosting a 3k Run and Open House ( Linking Together Against Crime 3k Run). Race will start at 8:00 am, for registration information contact Community Affairs or website www.claytonpolice.com . Pre-registration (day of event) will start at 7:00 am, 7911 N.McDonough St. Jonesboro, GA 30236 (Clayton County Police Headquarters). Shuttle services will be provided to the starting location.   Immediately following the race will be an open house,free refreshments, youth activities, reduced pet adoption fees and low vaccination costs.  All events and activities are free, open to public and all ages are welcome. Come out and meet the staff of Clayton County Police Department.

Clayton County Board of Commissioner Gail Hambrick (District 2) will host her annual community festival on Saturday, October 1, 2011. The event is free and will take place from 9:00am – 1:00pm at Flat Shoals Park located at 1915 Flat Shoals Road, Riverdale, GA, and will open with  Sand Konscious African Drummers.  The public is invited to attend.

In addition to cooking and tennis demonstrations, Commissioner Hambrick will unveil the park’s newly renovated tennis court, bathrooms, pavilion, as well as brand new playground equipment, a state-of-the-art batting cage, and park fencing.
