Police trying to find out what killed one boy and sickened his three siblings | News
JONESBORO, Ga. - Police are waiting on autopsy results to find out what killed a 2-year-old boy in Jonesboro Wednesday and sickened his three siblings.
Police and firefighters responded to the Marquis Grande apartments on Tara Boulevard after a caller said several children were complaining of nausea and vomiting. The children's step-father was at the apartment complex with them.
Paramedics transported the four children, all under the age of 6, to two different hospitals. Two-year-old Jaden Harvey did not survive. Hospital representatives did not comment on the status of the other children.
The Jonesboro fire department said their hazardous materials team did a thorough check of the building and its air quality, and everything came up clean.
No charges have been filed. Whether or not charges will be filed in the case will depend on what killed the child. Police said they are "looking in several directions," but awaiting information from the child's autopsy.
