11Alive's Olympic double-decker takes Atlanta by storm
News

ATLANTA -- The London 2012 Olympics have taken the summer by storm.  And even though the Olympics were in London this summer,  there was a special way viewers were able to enjoy all the excitement back in Atlanta and surrounding areas. All they had to do was look out for 11Alive's Olympic double decker bus.

Every weekday, from July 30th through August 10th, WXIA-TV took the 11Alive double-decker bus on the road. We had special Olympic live shots at Centennial Olympic Park, Clayton County International Park- The Beach- in Jonesboro, Historic Roswell, Atlantic Station and Stone Mountain Park.

We were also live from the home of the Gwinnett Braves, Cool Ray Field in Lawrenceville, Duluth and Marietta.

And just this past Thursday, we were in the City of Dallas. During that Olympic party, we had the community come out along with the Paulding County High School band. It was clear that 11Alive took over downtown Dallas as we had the Olympic All Access Pass party in front of the Dallas Theatre. Mayor Boyd Austin even shut down Main street in order that everyone would be able to have a safe and fun time.

WXIA-TV wrapped up their coverage of the Olympics All Access Pass show in Stockbridge, Friday afternoon where many groups came out to take part in the Olympic party with 11Alive's Elle Duncan.

Each town we visited greeted WXIA with warm hopsitality and great community participation.
