Toddler hospitalized after car slams into Jonesboro office

JONESBORO, Ga. -- A 2-year-old girl was transported to Egleston Hospital after being a passenger in a car that slammed into a building in Downtown Jonesboro. 

The accident happened around 1:45 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. 

According to Clayton County Police, the elderly man crashed into the Georgia Power Building on 119 Smith Street. 

The cause of the accident is unclear at this time. Officials say the toddler was alert, breathing and conscious at the time of transport. 

No further information was immediately released.
